UKLO and state schools
UKLO is particularly suited to state schools which might not normally enter competitions such as the other olympiads. One resource that such schools are typically not short of is languages, which the UKLO experience can turn into a positive advantage and source of personal interest. We would gladly try to support any such school which would like technical help with UKLO.
We are also keen to establish links with organisations which provide intellectual challenge for sixth-formers from state schools. They include the following:
- Villiers Park, which has in the past provided a residential course based on UKLO called ‘The language detectives’.
- The University of Cambridge Sutton Trust Summer Schools, which include a course on languages and linguistics.
- The Uniq Summer Schools at the University of Oxford.
We will be glad to advertise other such courses.
