Errors/Corrections

For Markers

Tuesday 13 Feb: In the mark scheme Q9.3 unfortunately has some errors: (i) the fifth word-part of sentence 25 should be sihdiəy (not diəysih); (ii) there was supposed to be a ken between uh and kʰotaah, hence there should be 9 words/word-parts instead of 8. Please note: Please still scale the points obtained for this problem out of 50. In the event that the total adds up to 51, round it to 50.

Monday 12 Feb: Please do not be alarmed by the apparent lack of some scripts on the Portal! Several teachers were unable to upload their scripts to the system due to the technical issues (now solved), and as such they were advised to send them directly to me. Thus, if you are allocated any such schools, I will send you those scripts by another email – please make sure to monitor your mailbox!

Sunday 11 Feb: We’ve assigned you to one or more schools but we’ve only just pressed the right buttons for allowing you to see the assignment. Very sorry for the delay in assigning markers to schools this year – we had to recruit more markers and we also had to contend with a major bug on the portal, which has only just been fixed. Hopefully it won’t happen again.

So you can now start marking your scripts, with a deadline of Tuesday 20th. Please tell us NOW if the deadline is going to be difficult for you to meet. And many many thanks for your help!

For Teachers

Weds 21st: General – entering points. Don’t worry about saving your scores once you’ve entered them on the portal. There is a ‘save’ button, but it’s actually just a prop – it does nothing but make a little wheel turn on the screen. Scores actually save automatically at the end of each row. Sorry about that – one of the features of our present portal that we won’t miss once the new one is on stream!

Tues 20th: Problem 5: The total points available for Q5.3 should be 12, not 10, so the total for the whole of Problem 5 is 18, not 16.

Sat 10th: In the solutions (which are now downloadable via the portal) there is an error in Q.3.2: meat should *not* be included in Do not accept “animal product”, “meat”, or “seafood”.

Tues 6th: The answer sheet for Problem 2.2 (Breakthrough and Foundation) should contain word(s), not word; so it should read For Q2.2 tick the word(s) that follow the rule .

Mon 5th: Portal issue SOLVED. Our portal manager has fixed the bug.
Here’s the earlier message: The portal isn’t showing the button you need for uploading Advanced scripts. We’re very sorry about this and hope to have the bug fixed soon, but meanwhile please send your scans instead directly to Kazune Sato, our Marking Coordinator: marking@uklo.org. You can send them directly as email attachments or (if they’re too big for email) you can use some transfer system such as WeTransfer. Fingers crossed that we can give you better service soon!
