Selection principles

Selecting competitors for the Training Camp:

1) Selection is based predominantly on R2 score. R1 score may be taken into account, but with a weighting of no more than 10%.
2) Other aspects of R2 performance, such as very strong performance on individual questions, may also be taken into account.
3) Between similar borderline candidates, priority is given to those from under-represented backgrounds.
4) Performance from previous years is taken into account only under exceptional circumstances.

Selecting competitors for the IOL team(s)

The IOL team(s) will normally be selected from those at the Training Camp.
